Historical Background
Founded in 2010 by the Habib University Foundation—a not-for-profit initiative of the House of Habib—Habib University (HU) is a bold attempt to reimagine higher education in Pakistan. With an initial endowment of US $40 million, HU was officially chartered by the Government of Sindh in 2012 and welcomed its first undergraduate class in August 2014.
