City University of Science and Information Technology (CUSIT) is a renowned private institution based in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. CUSIT was chartered by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in August 2001 and is recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. The university is also authorized to operate by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
Historical Background
The university traces its roots back to 1979, when Muhammad Zahoor Sethi established a primary school with an enrollment of 300 students. Over the years, the institution grew into a large educational network, consisting of:
- 11 school campuses
- 4 degree college campuses for boys
- 2 degree college campuses for girls
This extensive network serves over 26,000 students. In August 2001, the institution was officially upgraded to a university and became known as the City University of Science and Information Technology.
