Gandhara university

Gandhara University, founded in 1995, is a private university in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It was established by the late Professor Dr. Muhammad Kabir, a renowned surgeon and academician with more than 25 years of experience in public institutions. The university is chartered by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is registered with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in category “W”.

The name of the university honors the ancient Gandhara civilization, which existed in the region from the 1st millennium BCE to the 11th century CE. Gandhara was known as a hub of learning, where scholars came from all over South Asia and China.

Gandhara University has a number of specialized colleges and institutes:

Kabir Medical College: Grants the MBBS degree.
Sardar Begum Dental College: Grants the BDS degree.
Gandhara College of Pharmacy: Specializes in pharmacy education.
Wazir Muhammad Institute of Paramedical Technology: Provides training in different paramedical disciplines.
Farkhanda Institute of Nursing: Offers nursing education.
Kabir Institute of Public Health: Emphasizes public health education.

The university is registered with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan for postgraduate dental programs.
