History & Legacy Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), located in Karachi, Sindh, was originally founded in 1962 as Dawood College of Engineering and Technology (DCET) by the Dawood Foundation under the vision of philanthropist Seth Ahmed Dawood. The foundation stone was laid by then-President Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan. It was established as a federal engineering college and later upgraded to a full-fledged university by the Government of Sindh in 2013.
