Introduction and Background Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) is a prestigious public-sector medical university located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It was established in 1973 as Sindh Medical College (SMC) in honor of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. In 2012, SMC was upgraded to full university status through the JSMU Act passed by the Sindh Assembly, transforming it into JSMU and enabling a broader academic and research focus in medical and health sciences.
