Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science, and Technology (QUEST) was initially established in 1974 as a campus of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology to meet the growing demand for engineering education in Sindh. University Status: In 1996, the campus gained autonomy and was upgraded to a full-fledged university, named in honor of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, affectionately called Quaid-e-Awam (Leader of the People).
