The National University of Modern Languages (NUML) began functioning in 1969 as a center dedicated to facilitating understanding and communication with the help of various oriental and occidental languages. The primary function initially involved language instruction for armed forces’ personnel as well as staff belonging to various other government institutions within Pakistan. It was re-established as a full-fledged university in May 2000 and now includes instructions in 27 languages alongside numerous emerging sciences. The National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Peshawar Campus was opened in 2007.
