How to Apply for the Confucius Institute Scholarship 2026

Follow these steps to submit your scholarship application:

Visit the CIS official application portal
Create an account and fill in the online form
Upload required documents: passport, transcripts, language certificates, recommendation letters
Choose 2 Chinese universities offering CIS programs
Submit your application before:
- May 1, 2026 (for September intake)
- November 1, 2026 (for March intake)

Note: If you’re a Confucius Institute student, your local institute may assist with mailing documents.

Eligibility Criteria

Non-Chinese nationality and good physical/mental health
Aged between 16 and 35 (up to 45 for Chinese teachers)
Educational background varies by program (high school diploma or undergraduate degree)
HSK & HSKK test scores required (language proficiency)
