History & Legacy
NED University was founded in 1921 as the Prince of Wales Engineering College. In 1924, it was renamed in honor of Nadirshaw Edulji Dinshaw, a philanthropist whose family made significant financial contributions to the institution. Initially affiliated with the University of Bombay, it became part of the University of Karachi in 1951. In 1977, the Government of Sindh upgraded it to a full-fledged university.
