History and Development
- 1950: Began as Government Post Graduate Girls College Satellite Town, one of the oldest institutions providing women’s education in the province.
- 1983: Uplifted to postgraduate level, broadening academic courses.
- 2014: Declared a sub-campus of the University of Gujrat, a step towards full autonomy.
- 12 April 2019: Officially chartered as Rawalpindi Women University (RWU) by the Government of Punjab, a historic shift with the objective of offering higher education opportunities solely to women.
