The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) is a prominent public university in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, founded in 1925 as Jamia Abbasia by His Highness Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbas V. The institution was upgraded to a general university in 1975 and renamed The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
Historical Background
IUB expanded its reach in 2005 by establishing the Rahim Yar Khan Sub-Campus, located on Abu Dhabi Road in Rahim Yar Khan, covering an area of 80 acres of land. This campus provides a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various fields, including Computing, Natural Sciences, Business Management, Economics, Humanities, Arts, and Languages.
In December 2017, the Rahim Yar Khan Campus inaugurated a state-of-the-art academic block, which cost Rs. 726 million to build. This modern facility aims to provide quality education to students from Rahim Yar Khan and surrounding regions, including areas of Balochistan and Sindh provinces.
